The week ahead in San Diego real estate

San Diego home prices have stayed in positive territory over the last four straight months, according to the last reading of the S&P/Case-Shiller Home Price Index. Will the county see continued gains? Find out Tuesday, when S&P/Case Shiller officials release August numbers. (The index has a two-month lag and tracks 19 other major metro areas.)

Wednesday: The country's who's who of real estate will be in Los Angeles for the annual Urban Land Institute fall meeting Monday through Friday. I'm among the 5,900 registered for the event and will bring you the latest industry updates on Wednesday. Go here to see Wednesday's schedule.

Also Wednesday: Weekly mortgage application numbers are released, along with monthly new-home sales figures.
